Ikelite Video Housing for Sony HDR-XR500 & XR520 Video Cameras

  • Housing measures 11" (27cm) wide with the removable handle bar attached; 8" (20cm) high including the removable base; and 8.5" (21.6cm) deep including knobs and port. Weight above water is less than 10 lbs (4.5 kg) with camera for easy packing, and very slightly negative in saltwater for stability and comfortable handling.
  • The Base removes instantly with a unique toggle clamp for traveling or attaching of the optional Pro Video-Lite 3 battery pack. The handle assembly detaches from the housing by removal of just two nuts for packing.
  • Controls for the LCD Screen Touch Pad provide full access to setting white balance and white balance shift.
  • The included removable UR/Pro filter enhances red tones in tropical blue water settings with available sunlight at depths up to 80 feet (24 m). An accessory green water filter is also available for color correction and more natural tones in green water settings.
  • A magnified Super-Eye Viewfinder is provided for enhanced viewing through a diving mask. The camera's LCD monitor can be viewed from the rear of the housing using the External Mirror featured on the side of the housing.
  • The housing includes Image Reversing Circuitry. The circuitry "flips" the image in the camera's LCD so that its reflection in the mirror appears correct left-to-right.
  • The External Mirror is hinged to fold against the housing side for travel.

  • The system's compact size and weight make it a breeze to travel with. A complete housing and camera combination weighs less than 8 pounds (3.6 kg). The housing with camera installed is very slightly negative in salt-water for stability. Housing including base and handle assembly measures only 11" (27cm) wide; 8" (20cm) high; and 8" (20cm) deep. The housing accommodates Canon BP-807, BP-819 & BP-827 batteries.
  • The camera's LCD viewing screen can be seen directly through the housing back. Rear controls provide access to the camera's joystick menu-driven functions including custom white balance. An included UR/Pro Color Filter provides color correction in tropical blue water with available sunlight up to 80 feet (24 meters). The filter attaches to the front of the housing's lens port and can be removed and replaced while underwater.
  • The base removes instantly with a unique toggle clamp for traveling or attaching of the optional Pro Video-Lite 3 battery pack. The handle assembly detaches from the housing by removal of just two nuts for packing. The housing port is threaded allowing the use of 67mm threaded macro lenses (not available from Ikelite). The camera's extremely large lens element prevents the effective use of external wide angle conversion lenses.
